The UN Security Council met today 8 May 2014 and adopted resolution 2154 to create “the Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal for Exceptional Courage”.
Captain Mbaye Diagne is the Senegalese soldier of UNAMIR who was killed in Rwanda trying to rescue genocide victims alone because he did not have a partner to back him up.
The Captain, killed on 31 May 31 1994, would be alive today if Paul Kagame’s RPF rebels did not oppose deployment of a stronger UNAMIR force on 30 April 1994. So if you believed in the famous lie that the UN abandoned Rwanda in 1994, think twice.
The UN tried to help, Kagame refused. Then tutsis died, and so did Hutus. Kagame is still in power today, and continues to deceive.
