Juste le Zinc is a place I tumbled on 2 weeks ago and it's quite amazing in its clientele; serving little old ladies (one of whom had the A Nous Paris 4 dot review from this week), guys with suits and ties and young couples whom I hope are up to some good. They have an astoundingly priced (15 E) "menu" which today featured a brandade of cod, a glass of wine and a coffee. But the carte is reasonably priced too. They started us off with a bottle of the wine of the month. olives and a corn chowder with popcorn.
I started off with a huge salad of wonderful greens and an orange vinaigrette with freshly sauteed gambas, unfortunately unpictured; then Colette had a cataplana (a Portugese seafood stew cooked in a clamshell double pan designed by one Pató) with barbue, clams and mussels as well as veggies, while I had superb sole meuniere; and Colette then finished the meal off with a lovely floating island.
Our bill was rigged in our favor - we had a bottle and glass of wine, half of which was comp'd, two coffees, offered as well, great bread and no bottled water for 84E.
