Just a little post to wish my Creature a happy 2nd anniversary.
This time last 2 years ago we met for the first time as friends and accidentally embarked on the strangest first date I've even been on, meeting scary women in wetherspoons, far too much alcohol, and a surprise flat party.
We had been speaking on the net for a year and a half before we decided to meet. I'd just moved to Huddersfield for Uni and he was only an hour away in Doncaster.. So it was the perfect excuse to meet up as just friends and watch the football.
Up until then, we hadn't given the other any clue that we liked each other, we spoke purely as friends and had some banter over MSN (ooo retro!). But when we met at the train station, the football went out the window and we went the cinema instead..
I swear the walk to the cinema was better than the actual film, we had to ask for directions a bunch of times and somehow managed to speak to all the weirdest people in Hudds. One had holes in his face! - no seriously, they were holes!
We then also got lost.. Resulting in a lengthily tour of Comet's car park!
(safe to say, we weren't doing too well at this point)
But we did find the Cinema & we did see 'The Other Guys'
After the film we went for some food, Dan regretted to tell me that he doesn't like spicy food, so taking him to Nandos for the first time wasn't the best. He still to his day cries about the chip spice saying
'who would want their chips to taste like fire, its just wrong!'
It wasn't until we sauntered down to Wetherspoons that things got a little interesting. After a few pints, a tipsy Kerys left Dan to go to the loo for just a minute, when I came back he had been cornered by two British women, one rather large and the other really small and thin.
They went on to tell us that they were both married to Tunisian men & had married their husbands the day they met!! Not satisfied with telling us their life story & trying to talk us into marriage, they then forced us to go out clubbing with them!
We did make our escape shortly after, jumping on the bus back to my flat after a tiring day dealing with too many weirdos and spicy food.. But my flat mates had decided to throw an enormous party too. Of which we could hear the music from the other side of my halls!
By this time I was legless (great first impression on a first date Kerys..)
But something must have worked, because he stayed for 3 days & we haven't looked back since.
We've tried to recreate the madness of our first date a few times since but it's just never quite cut it.
Still it's a day I'll never forget :)
This was an illustration I drew after our first date.. So many things happened, we decided to document it in picture form ( Don't ask why, I'm not sure either)
But we still have the original copy in a scrapbook :)
What was I thinking.. A farmer style jumper teamed with suspender tights?!

& let the blog rivalry begin, as the Creature has started up his own little space for all his manly thoughts on life. He likes to think he beats me at everything. But for once, I'm not going to let him ;)
