Join TWJ on Patreon!

By Josh Peters @TheWhiskeyJug
A couple of months ago my friend David over at RareBird101 asked me why I wasn't doing a Patreon. My well thought out response was "I dunno". After a few minutes of chatting, he convinced me to give it a try. You can find it here on the TWJ Patreon page. Join TWJ on Patreon!

If you've never used Patreon and you're feeling apprehensive... don't. It's a really easy way to say Thank You to the content creators you enjoy and make sure they can keep bringing you content. Because let's face it, running sites and making content takes time and money. And running a whiskey review site like this takes a lot of both.

A couple of months ago, despite having almost 10,000 signups, I stopped doing the Whiskey Weekly newsletter. It was costing me just under $1,000 a year to maintain and through it, I'd only had a handful of people buy TWJ a shot on PayPal so I had to let it go.

Like most of you I have a day job and to keep the site going I either needed to get a raise (ha!) or start cutting expenses; obvious which one happened... I think I lost the point of what I wanted to talk about here.

This isn't a woe-is-me post. I'm so thankful for all of you readers everyday. I'm constantly in awe at how popular this thing has gotten and the amazing readers who come here and I want to make it even more amazing for all of us and with your support on Patreon I can do that.

By joining even the low ($3 / month) level you'll get access to exclusive content, vote on the whiskeys I should review, participate in community reviews and more as I think of it. YOU will get to help shape the future of TWJ. If you're able and willing to do more than $3/month you can unlock all kinds of other stuff.

This is also just where we're staring. I have some other ideas for community rewards, challenges and other things and your monthly donations will help us realize them.

I hope you join me on Patreon, but if not, I appreciate you coming to the site anyways and I hope that if you can't join me on Patreon, for whatever reason, that you'll at least turn off your ad-blocker when you're visiting the site. Every little bit helps.

Thank you for all your support and I hope to see you there,

Josh.
