Well hello there, happy 1st of December! I seriously cannot believe how quickly December has came around, only 24 more days and it will be Christmas day! I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to stuff my big fat face as much as I want, the food is definitely one of my favorite parts of the festive season. Saying that, I won’t be having a very fun Christmas holiday as I am absolutely swamped with uni work. I’ll be writing up lab reports and making posters with christmas hat on and tin of Quality Street right next to me.
It’s Christmas, I really couldn’t resist!
Anyways, mini catch-up over, I think it’s time I get on with what this blog post is really about. We all know over the festive season there are parties and celebrations galore, so looking our best is always near the top of our lists. I place so much focus on my skincare and what makeup I’m going to be using, that sometimes I forget about taking the time to look after my hair. Although straighteners have been put in a box and rarely see the light of day anymore, I still love a good blow dry and the John Frieda Full Repair Range* has certainly been helping me along to easily keep my damaged ends at bay.
The John Frieda Full Repair Range* is mainly aimed at damaged hair and claims to strengthen and restore the hair, reversing the look and feel of damaged hair with every use. I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner combination every other day for about 2 and a half weeks now, and I’m just going to come out and say it… I love it. I’ve used other shampoos and conditioners that have claimed to repair damaged hair before, and whilst they have left my hair feeling soft, none of them have lived up to John Frieda’s offering. Not only does it leave my hair feeling super smooth and silky, it feels so bouncy and I don’t think it’s ever had so much life in it. My hair definitely feels a lot healthier, and I think they are really going to help in taking my hair from a damaged, full of split ends mess, to the long, glossy locks I’m hoping to get next year! (One of my new years resolutions – along with getting nicer nails!)
One thing I’ve noticed as well is that usually I’d have to dry my hair with a hair dryer or it would look awful, letting it dry naturally was a total no-no. However, whilst I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner I’ve let it air dry a few times (even going to bed with damp hair) and it actually looks very nice the next day! I’m rather impressed and I’m sure my hair will appreciate it knowing it won’t be blasted with a hairdryer every other day!
The John Frieda Full Repair Repairing Oil Elixir* has really impressed me too, and whilst I don’t find this does much to strengthen my hair, it definitely gives it that extra bit of smoothness and shine that everyone wants. The day after hair washing when I wouldn’t usually wear my hair down because it looks a bit rubbish and is a bit crazy from sleeping on it, I love running a bit of this through it to liven it up and I can totally nail the ‘my hair is supposed to look this wavy’ purely because it looks so silky. Compared to other hair oils I’ve tried the texture of this one is a lot more watery and runny, which I personally really like as the thicker ones can really weigh your hair down and I find they just don’t work as well for me. I’ve tried this on wet and dry hair, before and after drying, and I definitely prefer it on dry hair. I’m not sure if it’s just my hair being a little weird, but when I used this before blowdrying it seemed to leave my hair a little static, which isn’t a problem I usually have. It’s a thumbs up for using it after blowdrying though!
I don’t seem to be making a dent in these so far, but when they are coming to an end I can definitely see myself re-stocking, which is a little surprising as I’m not usually one for being committed to a shampoo! If you’ve got damaged and dry hair that just needs a good injection of life into it, I’d recommend having a look at these. I know that Boots currently have 3 for 2 on professional haircare so now is your chance!
