Sure, it wasn't pleasant, but the evening was what really got me. In my drive home from work the temperature dropped five degrees. Can you believe it? For a cold day, this thrifted wool coat was perfect. I haven't had a waist length coat before and this one was just too cute to pass up. It has the comfort factor and the construction factor. One thing I've learned is that in today's economy, thrifting isn't something to look down upon. You can find some great pieces that others have tossed aside if you're willing to look. Some of the most perfect furniture pieces come from antiquing or thrifting! I found the perfect base of a lamp at a thrift store in North Carolina for $12 and added a lamp shade for $34 from Target for the perfect look on a side time in my house. The look is expensive but there was very little money spent on it. Apart from thrift stores, clearance and outlet stores are some of my favorite things. J.Crew has the best clearance and outlet stores around ( I have yet to be to a Kate Spade one, I'm sure I'll fall head over heels there.) In Lynchburg we are lucky enough to have the J.Crew clearance store. I picked up this jeweled sweatshirt for $20 a few weeks ago with an additional percent off because of a store special. The pieces they carry on the store are at least triple the price listed in the clearance stores. As someone who is going to be a newlywed in a short 9 months, and with my shopping habit/ addiction, saving is pretty important. In nine months I start paying rent, further pay bills, and pick up on car payments and student loans. It's going to be a grown up world for me really fast and every penny I can save helps. Though I'm still trying to maintain my wardrobe and build my home, saving money on that is important (even if I'm still spending.) I'm in the process of some FABULOUS projects that I can't wait to share with y'all. The finished products will be amazing and have been goals of mine for a long time. Psssst...remember Tuesday is that much closer to Friday! Hang in there babes!xoBCC
