I broke down and treated myself to a little retail therapy. Things are kinda weird around here and I’ve been really-really sad and confused. This guy makes me happy.
So, there you go. Store bought happiness, in the flesh.
Why did I choose a non-Keurig brand Keuirg K-Cup brewer?
Well… I’ll tell you.
- After looking at all the different models (in person) multiple times I felt that the Keurig brewers were a little plastic-y feeling. This Cuisinart feels really sturdy.
- Along with coffee, I drink a ton of tea so I’ll be using Javier to make hot water. I wanted to have the larger cup option for my tea. This brewer has the option of 5 cup sizes.
- It came with a My K-Cup, which is a reusable filter that I can put any ground coffee I’d like into. Retail ~$20.
- It looked prettier than the Keurigs… in my opinion.
- It was on sale at Kohls and I had had a large glass of wine before walking into the store…
I did a lot of math and it’s true the K-Cups are more expensive than straight up ground coffee so I really wanted to have a My K-cup. This way I can buy plain coffee cheaply and splurge on the fun stuff.
What I didn’t know when I bought this brewer, was that it has a fun little compartment on the side, made especially for storing the My K-cup. Love all things organized!
The Cuisinart came with a 12 pack of K-cups to try. I decided for my first cup I’d try Dark Magic… I thought it was very Halloween Festive.
I’m excited to try them all and find out what I like.
I also bought some fun fall flavors at Target.
I found some Pumpkin Spice and Butter Toffee flavored K-cups on Amazon for super cheap. They’re coming later this week.
It’s true, I’ve gone a little K-cup crazy… but let me have my happiness, even if it’s bought.
The first cup of coffee was awesome. So perfect. I always have a really hard time getting the right ratio of grounds to water when I brew coffee. This takes away the troubles.
Dark Magic?
