Earlier versions of “Sandy” have been making the rounds for awhile along with a couple other tunes from Jackson Scott’s Asheville NC based, bedroom pop project. Pitch shifted vocals and lo-fi tape saturation help make an already good song into a shining gem relatable to the Elephant 6 collective or Atlas Sound or a number of other significant indie DIY artists. ”Sandy” finally makes its way out as an official Fat Possum release in order to promote for Jackson Scott’s debut full length, Melbourne, out on the label July 23rd.
