Jack Johnson to Sub for Mumford & Sons at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival

jack johnsonThis week, Mumford & Sons bassist, Ted Dwayne, was hospitalized, treating blood clots to his brain. The band has rescheduled three concerts they were to play this week, due to the medical procedures. They were set to play at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee tonight, but had to pull out last minute amid concerns for Dwayne’s health. As Mumford was the headlining band for the festival, urgent phone calls were made to procure another band for Saturday night. Luckily, there just happened to be someone there who could help.

As if you needed another reason to love Jack Johnson. Johnson, already at Bonnaroo to see good friends ALO perform, stepped up as soon as he heard Mumford wasn’t able to play. He made some brief calls to the rest of his band, and they flew in to Tennessee as quickly as they could. This isn’t the band’s first performance at Bonnaroo, as Johnson performed there the first year the festival was thrown. While Johnson isn’t Mumford & Sons, hopefully the concert-goers won’t be too disappointed at the last-minute substitution. Here at Catch My Ear, we wish Ted Dwayne a speedy return to health.
