Italian Invasion of ‘PloF’

Posted on the 12 January 2014 by Orlandobands @Obands

mandipaige (1)PloF introduces their new EP, Twisting indie acid rock with their own sense of humor and character to create ‘Mardi Gras‘. Straight from 1526579_452639511509330_56390875_nItaly and still in the youthful stages of the band they have a unique quality and sound ready to infect the USA. Check out our interview with the guy’s as they told us about their new EP, even that time a drummer got stuck in a toliet! …. So keep reading ;) !

Can you tell us about your band name?  Our band name was born without thinking too much. We were proposing names to each other which could be more or less suitable to our kind of music and “Plof” was by far the most appropriate.

How long have you been performing as a band? We formed in spring of 2012 and during the entire year we got to perform a lot, especially in our region. In 2013 we began performing around Italy, earning various appreciations. We still keep on performing, sharing our first EP around the country.

What has really influenced your music the most? There is no particular influence, we created our sounds in a very direct and spontaneous way. However, whoever assisted to our concerts thought there was a resemblance between other groups, such as Primus, Captain Beefheart.

Describe your sound in three word’sDirect, funny and addicting.

Do you have a favorite track off your new EP?? There are no tracks about the ep that we particularly prefer, every song is unique and we like them all in different ways.

Do any of you have a crazy /dramatic show experience? Once we had to perform at a festival in Arezzo (Tuscany) and the drummer got stuck in a toilet for several minutes cause they thought nobody was in there and they locked it.. then someone finally found him!

Who writes the Lyrics, is it a group effort? The singer/guitarist writes the lyrics. We usually choose together the melody first since the words get adapted to the sounds and not otherwise.

Besides social media, and flyers do you practice any unique methods of promoting upcoming shows? The only way we promote upcoming shows is by updating our facebook page with anything about events and everything that has to do with the band. Our ep is available on band camp and we’re planning on creating a site where people will be able to look up anything they’re looking for.

Is there anything you would like to tell our Reader’s? We’d like every reader to listen to our ep to have an idea about the music that we make, and we hope you like it. Follow us on Facebook and take a look at our first video from the last track of the EP,called Sex Appeal.
