THE SHOWS Madam Secretary
If you remember, the Fall finale left us wondering who got blown up in Russia or the Ukraine or wherever Potus and Elizabeth were. Of COURSE it wasn't Elizabeth and Potus, otherwise what would CBS run on Sunday's at 8? Maria Ostrov, the Russian Prez and Demetri Petrov both didn't make it through Madam Secretary's Fall finale. Of course Henry's taking Demetri's death really hard. He's yelling at kids at Allison's winter carnival, he's cutting class short at the college. The guy's struggling. Gotta say, he looks really good. I think over the break he and Tea got away, got some color, some Botox, he looked well rested. Is there a school that will kick you out if your parents don't volunteer? Come on, I'm sure the Secretary of State gets a pass for not hitting the bake sale or the Booster Club. That was a bit bizarre. Also funny, trying to take a walk and have a heart-to-heart chat with your spouse while the Secret Service goes with you. That would be hard for me to deal with. Through it all, Elizabeth brokered peace, saved some astronauts and kept her kid in school and her husband off the deep end. Impressive work.
The Good Wife
Big news guys. Without any explanation, Zach is back and he's on the campaign bus tour around Iowa for the caucus. Too bad his Mom's in a bad mood. Alicia was still in a funk after Eli's big admission. She hid behind very dark glasses and listened one song over and over. In case you were wondering the name and artist of that one it was "No One's More Happy Than You" by Clem Stride. I couldn't get it out of my head. It was Ruth who snapped Alicia out of her funk. Her words of wisdom, "You're right where you're supposed to be." Guess that was enough to do the trick. Unfortunately, looks like the Iowa Caucus was the end of the road for Peter. He came in 4th and didn't really qualify to move forward. There was a whole thing with Peter doing the "Full Grassly" and eating loose meat sandwiches and then Alicia made a comment about how being in Iowa was torture. Honestly, the apology Ruth came up with made no sense. Alicia said that Grace was sick with a cold and she wished she was home with her in her kitchen. But Grace was with her in Iowa and anyone could see she was fine. Back at home, a story I'm betting will get bigger, David Lee hid 2.2 million bucks from Alicia before she left. Jackie's going to be the one to blow the lid off that one. Jason discovered it during his investigation of Howard Lyman for her pre-nup. Man that guy can get a lot of info sitting in traffic. Cary finally got what he wanted. Wait til Howard finds out he's pretty much powerless thanks to him. I'm thinking that across the board the sh*t's about to hit the fan at the firm...again.
Downton Abbey
Who knew Mrs. Hughes would turn into a Bridezilla? She doesn't want to have her wedding at Downton. She wants her own flowers, her own food, her own everything. Doesn't matter that Downton means a lot to Mr. Carson. Doesn't matter that people would pay a boatload of dough to get married in an English castle, she wants to go to some little pub and do it all HER way. All the women at Downton want to do things their way lately. It is 1925 for God sakes. Mary's running things and showing off pigs, Edith's running the paper, Granny, Cora and Mrs. Crawley are battling about the hospital merger. These women are really getting into it. Of course we still have some drama. Mrs. Drew stole Marigold from the pig show. I know Edith really loves Marigold, but I gotta be honest, the kid isn't that cute, and she never speaks. Maybe let Mrs. Drew keep her. LOL JUST KIDDING people! Mrs. Bates, aka Debbie "Anna" Downer found out that she just needs a stitch to the cervix and she'll probably be able to have a kid. We actually saw her frown turn upside down. Maybe Mr. Bates won't need to anymore. (get it?) Anna will def want to get back to baby making! Wish Thomas would just leave already. He's so annoying. So is Daisy. Enough with the Mr. Mason thing. Move on girl. Go back to ABC and make more episodes of Galavant.THE OTHER STUFF
- I've been talking and talking about Freeform, but today's the BIG day. If you're searching for ABC Family, you're going to get Freeform. If you're tuning in today, you're going to get Freeform. Here's what it looks like. Still not sure how I feel about the new name, but I'm really not good with change. Check it out: http://freeform.go.com/
-I read yesterday that Netflix is going to "remake" One Day at a Time but it's going to be centered on a Cuban family instead. Would I call that a REMAKE? I don't think so. A remake would be finding another cast to play Ann Romano and her two daughters Barbara and Julie Cooper. Come on guys. Just because Norman Lear's on board to executive produce it doesn't mean you can mess with me. I know a remake when I see one.
-Make sure you check out WWTM on Thursday AM. James Corden is going to have Adele doing Car Karaoke. He'll have it for you on Wednesday night, I'll have it for you on Thursday morning. I can't wait.
