The first book in the Jacqueline Kirby series by Elizabeth Peters
I posted a review of The Seventh Sinner by Elizabeth Peters – a mystery with a librarian sleuth!
I finished Malindy’s Freedom by Mildred Johnson and Theresa Delsoin just in time for a great discussion at our book club meeting.
I gave up on the anthology Dates From Hell. I only completely read one of the stories, the one by Kelley Armstrong, an excellent pre-quel to Personal Demon. That was the e-book on my phone. I replaced it with Part II of Walls of Wind by J. A. McLachlan and devoured it. I reviewed Part 1 late last month. I’m ready for Part III which was supposed to show up over the weekend, but I haven’t seen it yet.

Quiicksilver means mercury.
For Wondrous Words Wednesday, I wrote about my memory of learning the word quicksilver, the title of the novel by Neal Stephenson I’m reading. If you’re of a certain age, you may have a similar memory. If you’re younger, you probably never will.
In keeping with the theme of science in the 1600 and 1700s, I’m also reading Newton by Peter Ackroyd and The Clockwork Universe by Edward Dolnick.
For the more general theme of England, I’ve started reading the DK Eyewitness Travel book, Great Britain.

I’ll start Part III of Walls of Wind if I can get my hands on it. Otherwise, the books I’m reading will probably suffice for a while.
