It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

I shouldn’t have any problem with this today — I’m taking an on-line class and I have an assignment due! Julia Child took cooking classes in Paris, but I don’t know if she ever used them to create deadlines for herself. That method works really well for me.

On Saturday, I was too busy working to try a new Julia Child recipe for Weekend Cooking, so I put up one of my go-to recipes: Weekend Cooking: Veggie Pasta. On Sunday, I reported my Live Like Julia progress, or lack thereof, in my Sunday Salon post. Fortunately, Vasilly of 1330v pointed out in the comments that one of the other rules in Julia Child Rules is Live With Abandon, so I quit feeling guilty about my break from working hard.

Speaking of Paris, Girlxoxo published my guest post about how to learn from books about a place that you want to visit: Bloggers Recommend Summer Reads {The Learn Something New Edition}.

Read

For another France-themed read, I finished The Whole Fromage by Kathe Lison and wrote a post inspired by it for the From Left to Write book club: An Autobiography of Cheese: From Cheese Hater to Cheese Club Member.

And I put up book review for another book about France: Book Review: Death in the City of Light by David King.

Reading

I have just a few pages left in Cooked by Michael Pollan. I have so many post-it notes in the book that I may write a 4-part review for my next month of Weekend Cooking posts.

Will Read

Next up, I’m going to start the Read Along book for the Back to School Reading Challenge and Wednesday Book Club: How Children Succeed — The Back to School Read Along Selection. That is, if I can snatch it back from Rick. He picked it up this evening, started at a random page in the middle, and was immediately entranced.
