I can’t believe a year has flown by so fast. This week I celebrate my 1 year blogiversary, my blog went live September 15, 2011. I named my blog Shauntee because people often refer to me by my middle name and state that Shauntee is my alter ego. It has definitely been a labor of love for me. I never imagined that I would enjoy it as much as I do. Unlike most of the bloggers I follow, I work a full time job. My day starts every morning at 7am after hitting the snooze button continuously for a half hour. It normally ends somewhere between midnight and 1am after I fall asleep still typing thoughts on my iPhone. If you ever want to know what it feels like to have your brain in constant overload ask me! I have a degree in accounting and work double duty as a Staff Accountant/Office Manager.
What most people don’t know is that I also just completed my second degree, so I’m actually celebrating for 2 reasons. For the last year, I’ve managed to write 2-3 papers weekly, as well as, make 160 posts to my blog. I will be honest and say it hasn’t been easy and I spend at least 90% of my day in front of a computer. I’ve fallen asleep at the computer and I’ve knocked myself in the head countless of times after frying my brain. It all has been well worth it!
I have noticed the growth within myself and with my writing over the past year. I’ve watched my readership grow and found that I really do have a passion for writing and communication.
