This morning I went to the doctor so he could have a look at my finger. I have been in there so many times, the nurse just laughed and shook her head as if to say "what have you done NOW?!" but never mind, it gives us a chance to chat and catch up. We still need to go shopping, and I have her number now because I don't have facebook for her to message me on. See, another example that if you really need people in your life, they will enter it via other ways (eg actually seeing them!) and not just through Facebook. I do find it creepy though when people ask things about your life that you have never discussed with them, like when the nurse said today "so you found love in England?" referring to my changed relationship status from weeks ago.
Back to the finger, the doctor said "Oh, you have some bad luck" and I thought yeh tell me about it. He stuck the skin back together with some sticky stuff and now I have a big bandage on it. I also got my tetanus shot so I have a dead left arm too. Hah.
Unfortunately the bandage is (or was) white, which doesn't mix well with horses... it looks quite disgusting now. I went to the barn immediately after to tack Seb up and walk him around for Martin. It was interesting trying to hold the reins, but instead of getting annoyed that I couldn't ride properly, I saw it as a good challenge. I am very lucky I have Martin here to ride Seb, but I thought if I was at home and this happened, I would have no one to ride my horses so I would have to make do. I was experimenting with different ways to hold the reins and still be effective. I just thought of how the para-riders manage to ride with their different techniques, and saw it as quite cool to see how I can do it different.
Therefore I am getting back in the saddle on Saturday for sure. I can't bend my finger or put pressure on it, but I am determined to make it work! Tomorrow the boys will have a day off and I will go through to a competition with Leonie to watch her early in the morning. Tomorrow evening I am treating myself to getting my hair done in Hannover, yay new blonder tones come at me!
