After being signed to Top Dawg Entertainment in June, Isaiah Rashad stayed unusally silent for a few months but here he is with “Shot U Down”. Like his TDE counterparts he lays down a cerebral flow stuffed with passive aggression. The slow motion beat acts as a foil to the anxiety filling his delivery. It’s the high and come down all in one, easy to chill to or get hyped to. After a hyperactive first half, Rashad makes peace with his situation, at least temporarily, by the end of the track, singing a refrain about his competition, or lack thereof.
