SAN FRANCISCO — The Apple iPhone 5 has officially been unveiled to the curious Apple fans. The new gadget is slimmer and lighter than its predecessors but comes with a bigger screen. However w3ait is not over yet— it will be available to Australian customers till September 21. Apple will start receiving orders on September 14. Still holding latest iPhone model made of glass and aluminum is a dream.
Prediction 1: The iPhone 5 is going to be larger/Slimmer.
Reality: It is in fact both larger and slimmer, but appears very much like other iPhone 4 models with added durability. The new specs show the iPhone 5 coming in at 7.6mm thick, 18 percent thinner than previous phones. It is also 20 percent lighter, coming in at 112 grams. Apple announced the phone is “made entirely of glass and aluminum. It’s designed and built to an exacting level of standard unlike anything we, or anyone in our industry, have made before.”
Prediction 2: The iPhone5 will have the brain of an iPad.
Reality: Wrong, but the iPhone5 brain is still better than before. The iPhone 5 will come with an A6, with a faster CPU and graphics compared to the A5. This is 22 percent smaller than the previous chip, making it more energy efficient.
Prediction 3: An improved battery for iPhone 5.
Reality: Prediction went true as mentioned earlier new device comes with A6 chip. A6 is smarter, faster and energy efficient. It gives more battery backup to the battery. According to iPhone 5 documentation the device supports up to 8 hours of talk time on a 3G network. Wi-Fi browsing time is up to 10 hours.
Prediction 4: The iPhone 5 will be without NFC chip.
Reality: As predicted no NFC chip added.
Prediction 5: The iPhone5 will have a changed adapter.
Reality. As predicted latest model of iPhone comes with a modified adapter model. New adapter is called lightning is 80% slimmer than predecessors. It has added capability of being plugged in both ways.
Prediction 6: An improved Camera for iPhone 5.
Reality: Prediction is neither 100% true nor 100% wrong. Installed camera in the new Apple device is very similar to its previous device iPhone 4 but is smarter. It has been upgraded to capability of taking pictures in very low light. Users can take pictures in panoramic mode and at a greater speed.
