Apple’s iPad can be used for a lot of things: sending messages, video chatting, watching movies, typing etc. Thanks to the Apple Maps app, you can also use it to share your location, find a way to a friend’s house, get the best directions and find new restaurants.
If you’ve ever found yourself in an unfamiliar city or town, you’ll be grateful for this feature. The Maps app shows you the location of local coffee shops and restaurants, and all you need to do is tap on them to get the information that you want and need. Some restaurants are accompanied by reviews (can come in handy) and the Maps app works hand in hand with the Yelp service, which allows you to read, as well as add your own reviews.

You can either use your current location or type in a new one into the search engine. The Maps app will locate your desired area and, if there are restaurants there, you’ll be able to see them (a knife and a fork as an icon; coffee shops are presented by a cup of coffee). The white bar at the bottom of your iPad’s screen gives you options to center yourself, turn on 3D maps and share your location.
A car icon will appear when you tap on the name of the restaurant where you want to eat. To receive more info about it, tap on the icon opposite the car. Some restaurants, like we’ve mentioned, have reviews and ratings, and you can see photos of the restaurant (for more, tap on the Photos tab), its opening and closing hours, what type of a restaurant it is and its prices.

The Info tab includes reservations and delivery details, and whether the restaurant is fit for kids. Want to read more about the restaurant? Tap the Reviews tab. Selecting More Reviews on Yelp will provide you with additional reviews.
