Introducing: Fury

By Lesassorties @LesAssorties

After several years of working in womenswear, millinery and handbag design, Lisen Magnusson realized that her deep interest lied in shoe design. She was employed in many companies before eventually establishing her own line, Fury, alongside her business partner David Frymann in 2012. A mix of fashion and art – the latter inspired by Magnusson’s art background besides fashion design – their silhouettes have come to be instantly recognizable, making Fury another addition to the crop of young British designers who turn fashionable heads with their flamboyant creations. Within one year, Magnusson and Frymann saw their collections being included in Haizhen Wang Autumn/Winter 2013-14 show at London Fashion Week, stocked in high-profile boutiques and featured in renowned publications around the world, earning them a spot in the Footwear Designer of the Year at the Drapers Footwear and Accessories Awards in 2013.

Glam rock spirit and feminine edge are at the heart of the brand, and so is superior expertise: “I want every shoe to be distinctive and tough – a little bit rock ‘n’ roll,” Magnusson shares. Sexy chic is a theme that underpins every collection, epitomizing “London cool.” However, she aspires for her shoes to be seasonless: “I want to do something iconic,” she explains. “I never follow trends, but prefer to sketch whatever comes to mind and whatever I feel like at the time – I think that this is what makes our label unique. For all the spontaneity during the design process, the shoes all complement each other perfectly while standing out in their own right.”

The handpicked materials are luxe yet sustainably sourced – python leather is sourced from certified farms in Indonesia. Their multifaceted shoe range brings together a variety of styles from high-heeled stilettos and studded pumps to effortless chic flat ankle boots. Every piece features a signature zip-pull and quirky adornments, like oversized tassels, metal hardware, brushed and dyed leather. The collections are designed in London and handcrafted in Portugal.

While shoes are – and will be – the main focus and winning point of the company, the future may hold more than footwear for Fury: “It’s my personal dream to have a multi-product brand, so shoes, handbags, maybe sunglasses,” Margusson says. “We might go into accessories but, firstly, we are a shoe brand. It’s our first project and it is very special.”
