Additionally, we also provide daily-prepared, fresh meals in our bakery and store food court. In the meanwhile, our second Windsor facility is anticipated to open this year. We also want to offer our Ontario customers an exceptional online shopping experience.

Position Overview:

Multifood Supermarket is searching for a highly skilled Interactive Media Developer to work on building and developing our e-commerce platform and mobile shopping app in line with our company’s vision and growth plan. Multifood Supermarket, a developing business, is making efforts to integrate and use its current supply chain/logistics and distribution channels throughout the Ontario regions of Windsor, Milton, and Guelph in order to optimize its online platform, which primarily targets the Chinese-Canadian demographic. To deliver outstanding user experiences to Chinese-reading customers, the potential applicant must possess expertise in software and interactive media development. The ideal applicant must also collaborate with our expanding IT team to design and create a multi-channel e-commerce platform that matches the buying habits and reasoning of our target customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our marketing and supply chain teams to plan, create, and deploy Multifood Supermarket’s mobile shopping app and online e-commerce platform in both English and Chinese;
  • build and program the unique effects for our mobile shopping app and e-commerce website to produce the best user experience;
  • underlying site architecture, with a focus on streamlining the checkout experience for customers to maximize cart conversions;
  • the e-commerce platform and mobile shopping app must be coded, tested, and modified in accordance with creative design guidelines while assuring user experience, cross-browser/phone compatibility, mobile optimization, and a speedy checkout procedure;
  • Participate in talks about design and development, offer suggestions for the best design direction and development process, and assess the viability;
  • For the online e-commerce platform and shopping app, create logical requirements, interactive sequences, animation assets, and aesthetically pleasing layouts, making sure the entire design presentation is immersive and attractive to Chinese-Canadian/Asian consumers;
  • evaluate and incorporate add-ons and plugins from third parties to improve functionality;
  • Identify and make sure built-in security fail-safes are in place to safeguard consumer data and privacy;
  • conduct routine evaluations to maintain, update, and enhance the experience of Chinese-Canadian and Asian users;
  • Software code should be monitored and improved, use statistics and checkout metrics should match set criteria, and numerous projects should be managed for necessary improvements.

Requirements:

  • a minimum of 5+ years’ expertise in structural development and website and mobile app design;
  • a minimum of a master’s degree in interactive media, computer science, or an area closely connected to front-end development;
  • a specialist in graphic design, web design, web development, and Asian-Canadian/Chinese-Canadian-targeted online retail apps;
  • ability to create sound website and mobile app structures that are appealing and simple to use for Chinese-Canadian/Asian mobile app buyers; in-depth understanding and design sense paired with good logical reasoning;
  • direct experience creating appealing English and Chinese language graphical components for use in websites and mobile applications while continuously working as a team;
  • Technical competency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator), CSS, and HTML; readiness and aptitude to learn new development languages as needed;
  • Preferably with.NET, SQL, and JAVA knowledge and experience;
  • Chinese language fluency and affinity are assets.
