In Honor Of The Australian Open: The Illusion Shaker (Recipe)

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi! Oh yes, the Australian Open is upon us again! It's that time of year when tennis gets back into the swing of things and opens with the first of the slams. Sadly, unlike the US Open, which has a specific cocktail (the Honey Deuce), the Australian Open doesn't have one. Oh, sure... you could have beer, but where's the fun in that? Fortunately for us, the peeps at the Drink Blog created this fantastic neon concoction called "The Illusion Shaker".

  • ¾ oz. Midori
  • ¼ oz. Triple Sec
  • ¼ oz. Vodka
  • ½ oz. Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. Pineapple juice
  • Pineapple wedges
  1. Add everything to an ice-filled shaker and shake vigorously for a few seconds.
  2. Pour into a large shot glass (or glasses - double or triple, etc. the recipe.)
  3. Garnish with pineapple wedges.

Be sure and check out all of our other recipes for great healthy pre/post match or workout snacks and meals!

4.5 USTA rated/open champion level tennis player, vegan, fitness freak, animal lover, and smart ass who firmly believes that champagne is anathema for all ills. Right now I'm either up to my eyeballs in paint swatches and fabric samples, or kicking some butt on a tennis court (hopefully the latter).
