Dashing opener Imran Nazir dashed Bangladeshi hopes to proceed further in the tournament. Responding to a challenging total of 177 to win he regained his lost form. He played a very entertaining innings in of 72 of just 35 balls. He smashed nine fours and three innings. He was living dangerously after reaching his fifty and tried to dispatch every ball out of park. Pakistani openers gave a wonderful start of 121 runs to lay the foundations of victory.
Bangladesh had very little to after Imran Nazir left. Their ultimate journey to home looked inevitable because Pakistan was very close to benchmark target of 140. However, Bangladesh got another chance to celebrate within span of three balls. Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez edged a ball straight to wicket Keeper.
