When you think of IKEA, the first thing that comes to mind probably has something to do with lots of parts, time and budget friendly. Of course the IKEA Hackers who share awesome “hacks” for your traditional IKEA furniture, adding some DIY upgrading but rarely do you associate IKEA with glamour, pizzazz or high-end.
Well no more! This past weekend at the 2014 Interior Design Show in Canada, IKEA got down right fancy! In a booth divided into three spaces: a foyer, a kitchen, and a bathroom/dressing room, IKEA shined. “A sharp departure from its signature Scandinavian modern look, the Swedish brand took inspiration from 18th century France, mixing classical wall paneling and antiques with high-gloss wardrobe doors, stainless steel hoods, and more.” (Domaine)
YES! IKEA!
The kitchen featured the brand’s newest door style, LIDINGĂ– gray and stunning Venetian crystal chandeliers.
The bathroom/dressing room is a room after my own heart! The room featured a GODMORGON high gloss white sink vanity and a wall of PAX wardrobes, with gold tiled wall (YES to gold tiles!). IKEA is definitely in the business of glamour.
I’m impressed! I wonder how long it will be before the new line hits stores in the US?! Hopefully we won’t have to wait very long!
