Me with always smiling Neenu, writer at FoodKissed.
A couple of years back when hubby had a health club membership at Radisson Blu located at Deira Creek in Dubai, we visited the hotel quite often during the initial days our of wedded bliss. Many a times we brunched at Boulevar or had a drink or two at The Pub and always loved the place and the classy feeling the hotel exuberated. After the membership expired, we never thought of renewing it since we didn’t lived close by and there were other routinely duties post marriage that gained more importance. So when people from Radisson Blu reached out to the bloggers for pre Ramadan event at their award winning Persian restaurant, Shabestan, I couldn’t resist myself to say yes. It was almost like the nostalgia from the former days hitting me and bringing out some sweet memories I have of dining at the hotel from the past. The confirmation email was sent and I almost everyday thought of being at Shabestan; mingling around with fellow bloggers and gorging on their delicious food.
What exactly are Radisson Blu offering this Ramadan, you may ask? The hotel is converting their whole of second floor into Iftar’s venue focussing on traditional mouth-watering delicacies from regions like Persia, Asia and Middle East. The buffet is priced at 149 dhs per person and offer selection of juices, salads, mezzehs, soups, starters, kebabs, rice and desserts. The main highlight of Iftar this year at Radisson Blu are their live cooking stations. The Asian live station will present Indian, Chinese and Japanese cuisines that will have spring rolls, stir fried noodles,
dim sums, BBQ chicken buns, vegetable dumplings, sushi, crispy Pekking duck rolls in home made hoisin sauce and many more. The Emirati cooking station will have shawarmas, Ouzi Rigag which is a traditional Emirati delight of a meat baked with rice, onions and eggs and topped with bread (rigag). And my most favorite of all is the dessert station which will contain delectable varieties of cakes, fudges, tarts, pastries, ice creams and Arabic sweets. You can dine at your heart’s content overlooking alluring Dubai Creek and shining Dhow Cruises while soft classical music played in the background but not missing the smiling faces of the talented musicians on violin and santur as you enjoy the exquisite spread of iftari before you. Something that you will not slip to notice is a man turning out hot Persian breads directly from the tandoor. Now who will resist piping hot breads just after breaking a long day fast? What definitely caught my eye while we were there was the authentic décor and conventional art pieces all around the corner giving the elegant feel of being in a part of Middle East.Check out the gallery below to preview some of the tastings that we were offered on the day of Pre Ramadan event and scroll down for timings during Ramadan and contact information of Radisson Blu.
