If I Could Only Have One..

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
Over the past week or so I have seen quite a few videos popping up on the subject of 'if I could only have one' and wanted to add my own little piece to it as I think it is an interesting post to make. Basically if you were to imagine that you lost all of your make-up collection (although something I'd rather not ponder on for long) and could only have one item from each category, what would you choose? I decided to base my choices on more affordable and accessible drug store brands, and quite honestly the majority of make-up is drug store with the exception of a few Benefit products, so it really wasn't the toughest task to complete! As always I'm starting to ramble so I will just get started and will list these products in the order that I use them when putting on my make-up.
If I could only have one..
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation was probably one of the easiest choices out of the bunch as it is my absolute favorite foundation and will be one that I repurchase time and time again. The shade that I have (Light Vanilla 51)  is a great match to my skin-tone, the finish is lovely and dewy without looking shiny and the lasting power is great. Reviewed here.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer won't be a surprise to beauty bloggers as it is just so darn popular and with good reason too. For a drug store brand concealer, the quality really is amazing and gives great coverage for under your eyes, blemishes or any other imperfections you want to cover up.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder has been my powder of choice for about a year now and in that time nothing has come close to it. I think that it is great for combating shine during the day and keeping foundation in place without giving the skin a cakey or powdery finish. Swatched and reviewed here.
Sleek Face Contour Kit has been a fairly new addition to my collection but has quickly become a staple in my everyday routine for contouring or just some general bronzing to create more of a glow to the skin. I have the kit in the shade 'Light' and have found the bronzing powder to be a great color for my very fair skin, with the highlighting powder also being a great shade for creating even more of that glow.
Sleek Rose Gold Blush is again another newbie in the collection but would have to be my favorite drugstore blush. For someone who hardly bothered with blushers in the past, I've found myself really enjoying them and as I couldn't include my beloved Benefit box blushes, Rose Gold was the shade I was drawn to straight away. The quality of the blush is fab, the rose shade with gold shimmer is absolutely gorgeous and I think it will be a great blusher for summertime. Swatched and reviewed here.
MUA Heaven and Earth Palette is without a doubt my favourite eye-shadow palette and at only £4 how could you say no. I'm a huge fan of neutral shades for the eyes and the shadows in this palette give you everything you need from highlights to dark crease colours, with both shimmer and matte shades. The palette has had some serious love from me since I bought it last year and I still haven't hit pan on my favorite shades so it really does feel as this will go on forever. Swatched and reviewed here.
17 Liquid Liner has been my liquid eye liner of choice as it has great lasting power and while application was a bit tricky at first, I find the nib applicator to be great for fast and precise application (you'll notice I've changed my mind on the brush since writing my review post). Swatched and reviewed here.
MUA Intense Colour Eye Liner Pencil is probably the greatest bargain and most loved kohl eye liner pencil that I own. At just £1 it is a great buy and have found this pencil to be very impressive for staying power as it takes a LOT for the liner to smudge.
Natural Collection Mascara was the most surprising find out of the lot as it has been the most volumising and lengthening mascara I have used, and a complete bargain at just £1.99 a pop. I have quite a collection of them in my drawer as they come in a number of different formulations suited specifically for lengthening, curling, volumising and also a standard waterproof mascara, meaning I like to mix it up every time I use them. If you haven't already tried the mascaras from Natural Collection then I would definitely recommend them! Reviewed and pictured here.
MUA Kiss Me Lip Balm has been my go to lip balm and was very surprising in terms of pigmentation and  overall color pay-off on the lips. I'm not one for wearing lipstick very often so lip balms are my product of choice and this one in particular is very moisturising while leaving a lovely and subtle red tint to the lips. Swatched and reviewed here.
So there you go, there are all my favourites and the products I would swiftly repurchase if I could only have one of each make-up category in my collection. I would love to see your choices (as I'm just nosey like that) so if you decide to make a post of your own then please let me know!
