I took a bold step and changed my life.

Today I am going to tell you all a story. A story about how I took a bold step and changed my destiny.
I was a software engineer and had just bought a flat. My life was going on a smooth road. I lived happily with my wife and my parents. Ever since childhood, I had a dream. A dream of opening and running a restaurant. Whenever I tried to approach that idea with my wife or parents, they shunned me out. I was dejected and continued to work in the software firm.
One day I was scolded a lot by my boss for making a mess in a project. I was livid. I was riled by his words. The fault wasn’t mine. My friend did the prank and spoiled it. The blame came to me as I was the weakest programmer in the group.
So, I went back to my cubicle and wrote my rejection letter. I gave it to my boss and left the office. That was the last day I worked as a software engineer. I went back to my flat and told everyone what had happened. They were angry with me for making such blunders and they were appalled when I told them about the rejection letter.
I was jobless for a few days. Every day the dream about me running my own restaurant hovered in front of my eyes. I wanted to do it. I decided on that and told my parents what I had thought. They were angry with me and were shouting at me about how I was going to let them down. About how I was mad for giving up my hard earned degree for a puny restaurant which would never run. Even my wife had heard what I had proposed. She too had shunned me.
I wasn’t going to be deterred by this. I approached a broker on how I wanted a shop. He named some prices which were too high for me. I agreed on the best one he suggested. I thought on the price which he had named. It was higher than my savings. I came to a decision to sell my flat. I did that without telling my parents.
When I had sold the house, they were livid. They were extremely angry with me. They stopped talking with me. Even my wife went with them. I was left alone. They were living in their ancestral home while I had taken a flat on rent.
I hired some people and opened the restaurant. I had named it ‘The Grill.’ It had a decent start. Pretty soon we began attracting customers. At this stage, my wife had begun talking with me again as she loved me more than her anger. She had now accepted the fact that I wanted to run a restaurant. In about a year, I had gained enough profits to buy another flat. I bought it. It was bigger than the previous one. My parents have now removed their shell and had come to live with us again. They were proud of me to choose my own destiny.
In 6 months, I gained enough profit that I bought the shop beside me also. It allowed us to prepare seating arrangements for the people who came to dine in The Grill. The restaurant as proving prosperous for me.
Less than a year after that, I bought another shop around 20 km away from the previous one. I opened another restaurant there. The Grill had now officially become a chain.
I took a bold step and began my new life. I had gone against everyone to begin my new life. Even my boss of the software firm visited The Grill once to taste the food. He congratulated me on my success.Life is nothing without risks. This was my story.-                This post has been written for a campaign for Housing.com     Video:
