I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas Home Tour Part IV- Family Room
Welcome back friends. If your just popping in here, I've been sharing each area of my house all decorated for Christmas. I've shared my Front Porch and Entry HERE, My Office HERE, and My Kitchen HERE. Today you finally get to see THE tree! We're moving into the family room and it might be my favorite room in the house (I think I've said that about every room!)
This is my favorite tree that I've ever decorated and I had a lot of fun doing it. I've never had a flocked tree until this year and I'm not sure what took me so long.
A flocked tree is a game changer when decorating your tree. I think the ornaments just pop on the white background and the texture is really amazing. I had no idea an artificial tree could make me so happy but this one does!
I found the perfect ornaments in soft shades of blush, copper, white and soft gray. It's like they were reading my mind! I used a variety of sizes on the tree and to fill baskets.
I found these sparkly gold antler picks this year and I wish I had bought more!
I also added pink satin ribbon just tucked in at the top and twisted to give it a slight curl. I used dried hydrangea on my office tree and keeping with the hydrangea tree topper theme I added these white snowball hydrangea stems to as a tree topper. I also tucked in Silver Dollar Eucalyptus to add some color and more texture.
And have you noticed that I am a little bit obsessed with lamb's ear this year? I just tucked some leftover sprigs into the tree to add a little soft green and that soft texture. The best part is that when Christmas is over I can take all that faux greenery and use it in other areas of my house.
It's always nice to add some fresh flowers to your decor. I used some soft pink roses and white mums. The nice thing is that the mums are really long lasting flowers so when the roses wilt I can take them out and still have the white mums.
We've got a lot of stockings this year as Gramma and Poppa will be here for Christmas. So everyone gets their own stocking.
I found the paper mache reindeer at an estate sale a few years back. You can buy these at the craft supply store and I just painted them white and glittered the antlers. They've fit into my decor ever since.
Birch logs are trending right now. They are pretty perfect next to the fireplace and can be used as a winter decor item until things begin to thaw in the spring. Just head to your local big box hardware store. They have these bundled as firewood in the outdoor section for far less money than I have seen elsewhere.
When I saw these cute little white houses this year, I knew they would be cute set up under the tv. That way we'd have a little sparkle over there but they wouldn't obstruct the view.
I kept the far side of the room a little more simple. Some extra blankets make functional decor. And then I added some texture with the decorative wood beads and gold antler.
I love the fragrance of this candle. It's actually a pumpkin spice but it's not super pumpkiny. It's more of a warm vanilla spice and I love the copper mercury glass jar. It helps tie in all the colors I've used throughout the house in this little area.
Fresh hydrangea, roses and fresh greenery that I sprayed with some flock adorn the coffee table. And yes, I have allowed impromptu snow ball fights with our faux snowballs!
I'm still loving my Pyne Hollyhock Pillows. They come in a few different color styles and they are so pretty.
Isn't this little tent so cute? I set it up for our little one but I have found more than 1 big boy snuggled up in it with more blankets piled up watching their youtube videos. I've also found our dog snuggled up in there too!
I hope you've enjoyed seeing this part of my home. I had so much fun decorating this year! And no worries, I still have more to show you! My Christmas tablescape is coming up next week so come on back to see that. In the meantime, I'm over on Facebook and Instagram posting away every day. Come on over to say hi!
