The DJ: she can make your night or break it. Want to know what’s going on inside her head while she’s spinning beats for your? Then check out my interview with hottie DJ Jai Syncere.
How did you come up with your DJ handle?
My DJ name was a combination of two of my nicknames. Jai was my nickname from living in the DC area and Syncere was given to me while living in NYC to describe my attitude.
How is your music different from what everyone else is spinning?
I would say my music is different because I’m not afraid to cross genres all in one set. It’s not out of my norm to go from r&b and hip hop to Top 40 or bmore club. I love discovering new music all the time, right now I’m loving the Euro feel cuz of its energy.
Everyone parties to chill out from working. But, partying is your job…so what do you do to chill out?
I barely have time to chill but when I do I love to travel or locally hang out with friends and wild out. On a chill day, watch a movie. At times I’ve even mixing in the house!
What’s your favorite venue to play?
I can’t name a particular venue but the type I like to play at is one with a great sound system and a diverse crowd.
Do you think there is a difference when you play for gay or straight crowds?
There is huge difference lol. You’re selection in music is similar in some ways as far as popular tracks but also different. An all ladies crowd typically won’t wanna hear certain tracks versus an all male party or straight event. Regardless what I play is always determined by the crowd.
Why do you think the ladies always love the DJ?
I’m not sure, I may need to ask lol. But naw, it may be the confidence that you have to carry as a DJ.
I hear you are a big Basketball Wives fan! How did you get into that and why do you like it?
I wouldn’t say I’m a basketball wives fan but sometimes them broads are entertaining because of all the dumb drama. She said this, she said that….it’s crazy.
If you could only pick one song to listen to for the rest of your life, what would that song be?
Hmmm thats way too tough for me, one song…wow i would really have to think on that. but one album would be jay-z reasonable doubt.
