The answer to Monday's Trivia Question: The answer I was looking for on Monday's trivia question was Linda Cardellini. She starred in Freaks and Geeks before she ever set foot in the ER. I have heard from a few of you that Busy Phillips also appeared in both, so I gave credit to you all as well.

Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls
Shocker...this one's good! Yep, no joke! Of course it has some similarities to all of the other survival shows and races, but this ones pretty damn good. Bear's back and he has 10 teams of 2 who have to work as a team and survive the day in the wilderness. At the end of the day, Bear decides who would never make it out alive and kicks them out. Of course every team had some sort of sob story they were dealing with. There's the ex-meth addict, the father who never spent any time with his son, a recent death or diagnosis, all of which would be made better with a 500K prize. You know the deal. The difference with this show is that the contestants really have to survive the elements. They have to use a compass and maps, skin animals, make fire, eat fish eyes, and drink their own pee. Yep...that's right the reward challenge was a race to make a fire, boil and cool their own pee and then drink it...do all that and win food and more importantly, a toothbrush, Crest toothpaste, Scope mouthwash, and some dental floss. Perfect product integration no? What's the first thing you'd want to do after drinking your own pee? BRUSH YOUR TEETH & WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT! Hilarious. Bear Grylls is an interesting host and guide. I love how he has his own logo and every one's wearing BGwear, what's with that? At the tribal council or whatever they called it, one contestant, Esmerelda, just got up and puked her guts out then sat back down and awaited her fate. Bear was concerned about keeping her, but she didn't get voted out, the best friends with the exact same hair, who let all the deer meat go to waste and went into went to bed instead did. It was the right move. This ones a winner guys...not kidding. C'mon...people drinking their own pee ya gotta watch that! Plus you get great survival tips from Bear along the way.Under the Dome
I keep going back and forth on Under the Dome. I didn't like the pilot, I liked the show last week and now I'm back to not liking it again. I really want to know about the freaking dome already. All I really learned this week is that you can't dig underneath it, but that's about it. What we did learn is that everyone in town is very aware of anyone with a bloody face and bloody knuckles and can put two and two together much quicker than most crime experts on other primetime dramas. Big Jim seems to rule Chester's Mill now, or at least he thinks he does. Wait til he finds out that his son has a girl tied up under his own house. I wonder if he'll commend or condemn him. Junior, the nut job, went into the tunnels with his flashlight and found out how deep the dome goes and that it blows up flashlights. The Twilight chick, Julia, was there to witness it all and lead the kid back outside. Linda and Barbie seem to be the smartest people inside the dome, wish they'd realize it and hook up and solve this mystery. My favorite character on Under the Dome is Joe the smart kid. He's the only one on the entire show who's trying to figure out what the F is up with the dome. He also almost got lucky with Nori the lesbian's daughter who went to his house to "charge her phone". Unfortunately word got out that Joe had a generator and parents on the other side of the dome, and a bunch of kids showed up to party. Aren't you wondering about some of those people too? The people on the other side? Things didn't end well for Joe and Nori, the power went out, everyone left and they both went into seizure mode and started with the "pink stars are falling" chant again. Bottom line for me is, if nothing else is on...I'll watch, but if something better comes along, Under the Dome is out!
Below Deck
Below Deck is mindless enjoyment for me. The entire yacht chartering thing is a world I just didn't know about it. No idea if what we're watching is realistic or not, most reality shows aren't real these days but I do find the show fun to watch. I love how the crew seemed to be able to serve 65 glasses of green juice ( a ridiculous amount right?), create gourmet dinners, make a picnic on an island, keep the boat spotless clean, do the laundry, take the guests tubing and perform so seriously by day, but then as soon as they have a minute to breathe (which doesn't seem often enough to make it worth the while, if you ask me) they get hammered, lose their clothes and flirt with each other. This week a hypnotist and his guests chartered the Honor for some fun off the island of Anguilla. Every so often this guy would just stop the fun and hypnotize his guests. I never saw so many people drink green juice before, and I think the crew underestimated the guests need and love for the drink since they ran out of greens early on. Of course the big issue is Adrienne the uptight chief steward. Most of the crew doesn't like Adrienne, but it's Sam who has the biggest issue. Even the hypnotist tried to help but of course it didn't work, most hypnosis doesn't work. The crew did a good job and earned a $15,000 tip! The hypnotist just happened to have a stack of benjamins to show the crew his appreciation on a job well done. Not bad! Even though the guests were happy, Captain Lee had some complaints and told both Adrienne and Aleks that improvements need to be made. Captain Lee is THE most intense dude ever. This guy is as serious as a heart attack all the time. I don't think he ever smiles, laughs, smirks, nothing. I'd think the Captain of a yacht based in St. Martin would be a bit more relaxed, but not Captain Lee.Live with Kelly & Michael
I know it's been a REALLY long time since I've commented on Live with Kelly and Michael, but with the Summer TV season sucking so badly and it being puppy week on the show, I just had to tune in. Glad I did, Kelly's dress on Monday's show was absolutely the most repulsive unflattering thing I've ever seen her wear. Yes, it did showcase her insanely muscular arms, but the color, the cut, the style, all did nothing for her. I honestly need to know what goes on in that dressing room when they are trying on dresses and making decisions on what to wear. They have to be high or something. I honestly think they are messing with all of us and trying to see how ugly the dress can be. Please tell me someone out there saw this thing and I'm not out of my mind.
News & Information:
-With the end of second quarter, lots of information is coming in on ratings and stuff. I'll try not to bore you with a lot of it even though I love it all. The early morning wars are really juicy these days. I've always been a GMA person, and I'm loving that GMA is kicking The Today Show's butt in the early morning wars. GMA finished the quarter with a 2.0 against RA25-54 and an average of 5.5 million viewers. This was GMA's first 2Q win in 18 years! I'm happy for them. Interestingly enough, CBS This Morning also saw some big time increases and posted their best 2Q numbers since 1994. I wonder where these viewers are coming from? Hmmmmm
-I'm assuming that the reason the Ray Donovan numbers are as strong as they are is purely because there's nothing else on. The show's just not that great. I will admit, I took the one and done approach with it, but I've heard from a few of you that episode 2 wasn't the greatest, so if you think I'm making a mistake, let me know. Happy to give it another shot, but I think I'm right on this one.
-I don't think I've EVER felt the need to get DirectTV and while I would never make the switch for various reasons I can't go into right now, when I read today that they are launching DogTV, I gotta admit, I was a bit jealous and again cursed my cable provider. Just because they go by Optimum these days doesn't mean I feel any differently about them. I don't remember the last time they gave me a new channel, especially one about dogs that I would LOVE. So for any of you DirectTV people, let me know what DogTVis like. It launches 8/1/13.
-Paula Abdul's just going from judging panel to judging panel. First Idol, then X Factor and now the one that she's probably most qualified for, So You Think You Can Dance. FOX is smart to keep her with the network, she's ratings gold most of the time, good work keeping her on the payroll.
-Good news for all of you Impractical Jokers fans, it'll be back for another season. I know there's a lot of fans out there. Many of you really thought I'd like Impractical Jokers, and I see why you like it, but it's not for me.
-YouTube channel, Smosh is the first to reach 11 million subscribers. I think I posted when they hit the 10 million mark, but that was only 41 days ago. Pretty impressive. I honestly don't remember if I checked it out or not. I will now.
Tuesday's Trivia Question: What actor starred in Sons of Anarchy and Undeclared?
With all of the insanity with the blog yesterday I forgot to mention that this in a theme week. As soon as you think you have it send in your answer. First one in gets 10 points after that it's 5.
