I Don’t Know.

By Melissa Boles @_mboles

It has taken me all day to write anything.  It’s not because I don’t have a lot to say about loving yourself, and being kind to yourself, because I do.

It’s because writing can sometimes be a hard thing.  Sometimes the words don’t come the way that you want them to, and you end up writing and rewriting sentences instead of putting together anything tangible.  And it’s painful.  It’s like pulling your own teeth or trying to tie shoelaces you can’t reach.  The words sit deep in the pit of your stomach, waiting to explode out of you but never seeming to go anywhere.

My gut keeps saying, “What story are you trying to tell?”

I don’t know.  I honestly am not sure.

So here’s my piece of advice on loving yourself today: if you’re unsure or uncertain, say so.  Be honest with yourself and others.  And even if you don’t get the response you’re hoping for, at least you’ll have shown a little trust in yourself and your words.
