Here, I am going to show you how to make one for a wall display. This is suitable for both young and older children. In fact, this craft is completed by three of us. Ms C paint the background, Mr K cut the Chinese characters and I wrote the words. You need:one sheet of red A4 paperhalf a sheet of yellow A3 paper (or two A4 sheets)a bottle of red glitter paint spongepencilsharp scissorsAs I didn't have yellow A3 paper, I used two A4 sheets instead. Feel free to adapt to what you have!1. Paint the background with red glitter paint and a sponge. Let it dry.
2. Fold the red paper in half and half again like this shown.
3. Draw the word on the either side of the paper like this shown below.
4. Now draw the word on the other side of the paper as shown below.
Note: use a pencil, not use black marker pen to draw. This was just for the purposes of the photo as a pencil would not show up very well on the photo.5. Cut along the lines and you will get this.
6. Now paste them on the glitter background!Hope you all enjoy this Chinese New Year series and keep your eye out for more food and fengshui posts! If you want to know more about the rest of the Chinese New Year crafts, do check out my Pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/etspeaksfrom/chinese-new-year/
