How To Safely Share Your Email Address (and Beat The Spam Scrapers)Sometimes you just have to add your email address to a web page or blog, and the problem with doing this is, you can end up with tons and tons of spam in your inbox.
The safest way is not to add you email address at all, but if you can't get away with this then you need a bullet proof way to protect your inbox.
One of the ways to do this is to use an image, but this is very time consuming, or you could always use the good old fashioned me(at)myemail(dot)com. But who wants to do this every time you need to post your email on the web. The trouble with this it's not very practical and very annoying for anyone that want's to contact you. So what are we going to do.
scr.im
scr.in is an easy and convenient way to add your email address safely to a web page or blog. It provides you with a very simple vanity URL that is easy to share and doesn't require any specific code in the link for rogue bots to pick up. To set up scr.im got to their website and click "Protect my Email" and they will guide you down the road of enlightenment to a place safe from spam.
reCAPTCHA Mailhide
If you own a blog you are probably familiar with reCAPTCHA. They offer an easy and powerful solution. All you have to do is go to the reCAPTCHA Email protection page Enter your email address and they will give you a HTML code to enter onto your site that requires a user to solve a reCAPTCHA before they can see your email address. Once your visitor has solved the captcha correctly people will be presented with a page that contains an untrackable link to your email address.
These are just two of many ways  to stay spam free on the web, there are many more ways to keep on top of the spammers, but the two I have detailed today must be at the top of my list.
