I wanted a unique and funky way to display my daughters hand and footprints so when I saw plain white canvases for sale in my local Home Bargains an idea popped swiftly into my head.
How To Make Hand And Footprint Canvases
Give the canvas a base coat (I chose white and then splattered red/purple paint over the canvas) and waited for it to dry
Stencil out your childs name and age to where you want them
Place your child’s hand into the paint then press onto the canvas in the position you want it (repeat with other hand if you wish)
Then do the same with their foot
Take a paint brush and paint their name / age onto the canvas where you put the stencil and allow to dry
Use a marker pen to go over the painted name / age to make it stand out
Stick stickers / glitter to add extra decoration – I used stick on flower gems and paper butterflies
Voila, you have yourself an original piece of artwork
With Fathers Day fast approaching why not give them a go, they’d make a lovely gift.
