How I cope during hayfever season
Today's post isn't the most glamorous but one that I wanted to make as hayfever has really been taking over my system over the last week or so. Hayfever season is well and truly upon us and it seems to be getting even harder to fight against it due to the current heatwave hitting the UK! Blocked noses & streaming eyes are never a good look and because of that I wanted to put together a little post about what I use to ease my hayfever when it hits.
The first thing that is an absolute necessity is the 1-a-day hayfever & allergy tablets which you can pick up in pharamacies or supermarkets, and my current tablets of choice are from Tesco. I'm really not too bothered about the brand of these tablets as they all appear to be pretty similar and do the very same job, so any supermarket own brands tablets will do me just fine. I tend to take one of these tablets every morning to make sure my hayfever is kept at bay during the day, but sometimes the tablet isn't enough. For the days when the pollen count is very high and the hayfever relief tablets aren't doing the job, I tend to reach for a good nasal spray and eye spray depending on how bad my nose and eyes are reacting to the pollen. My hayfever was really bad last summer and after having a good look at nasal sprays in Boots, the pharmacist recommended the Beconase Hayfever nasal spray as the main ingredient (beclometasone dipropionate) is great for clearing blocked noses and relieving the stuffy feeling of hayfever. I also rely on an eye spray when my eyes start to get itchy and the one I reach for is the Optrex Actimist 2in1 Eye Spray for Itchy + Watery Eyes*. 2 quick sprays of this solution on closed eyes really does relieve my itchy eyes which is great as it means I'm not constantly rubbing my eyes and making them even worse!
Have you been suffering from hayfever this summer? & if you have, what are you using to cope?
