Weight loss has been one of the most popular topics on the internet and it’s due to the massive obesity problems we’ve been having as of late. With the way our lifestyle has become more digitally engaged, it’s all too common to search about how to lose weight rather than it is to actually do something about it.
This has become a major issue specially when it came to our obesity rates specially in the U.S. where at least 33% of their population is obese. That’s like 1 in 3 people are carrying more than their share of fat and this is a scary fact. People focusing more on instant/quick food and preferring to eat at cheap fast-food chains, neglecting the nutritional values of what they consume almost on a day-to-day basis.

When you ask the average person “Burger or Salad?” the response is jokingly too easy to guess but in reality, this is no laughing matter. In fact, due to the way most people prefer unhealthy food, the problem with the waistline has become more than a physical condition and is now an epidemic. People are constantly looking for ways to lose weight fast but they don’t really like the process or the work they have to do to actually lose weight.
With all the problems about weight loss, is there actually a quick way to lose weight? The answer is most definitely YES.
What most people forget is that at the core of every diet, exercise, and weight loss plan, it’s the “doing” part that people often miss out on. They can read about all the articles, watch all the videos, and attend all the seminars they want but as long as they don’t do anything, their goal to lose weight will never be achieved.
It’s a good thing that you are reading about health and fitness but it would be a whole lot better if you can find a way to actually motivate yourself to actually do something about it. You can always start by trying out a fitness program or a diet guide for at least a month.
Sometimes a month is more than enough to see if there are results to your weight loss program or if your favorite weight loss supplement works. What matters is that you invest time on a program of your choosing because there is no shortcut to fitness much more is there for weight loss.
If you find yourself hating a program or see it doesn’t work for you then simply switch it to another program. The abundance of information available on the internet is often times overwhelming but you should use that to your advantage. With the information age, there is practically no excuse for you to not know anything about how to lose weight.

Quick Tips For Weight Loss

If you are motivated enough to act on your weight loss goals, here are some quick tips that work for most people.

1. Reduce Sugar Intake

A pile of sugar cubes.
One of the silent causes of obesity is excessive sugar intake. People who don’t know will tell you that a tablespoon of sugar won’t make you gain 10 pounds. But what they don’t know is that sugar is hidden in most of our food products and people unknowingly consume too much of it. What’s scarier is that people consume so much sugar everyday. In fact, there many ways sugar can make you fat and unknowingly eating them is just one.
Think about it: 1 teaspoon (about 4.2 g) of sugar is 16 calories and the studies show the average sugar consumption per year is 27 kg or roughly 60 pounds. That’s around 74 g per day and the AHA prescribes a maximum of 38 g. That’s almost twice the healthy consumption.
Even if you regulate your sugar intake, it is important to note that added sugar is not necessary.

2. Cut Back On “Processed” Consumption

This does not need explanation. In fact, it’s common knowledge that unhealthy, processed food has more negatives to offer our bodies than positives. Just look at this:

Based on the data above, the same serving size of a burger will generate more calories than a simple salad. Another popular food item that makes you gain weight are frappes. Let’s see how that compares with your generic iced coffee:

Given that frappes are much tastier than plain iced coffee but if your goal is to lose weight, you should realize that food that makes you happy for a few minutes can cause a lifetime of depression. Protip: Most “dessert” beverages have a low-calorie version. Ask for one.

3. Eat For Function

There is no easy way to losing weight but there is a way to easily fix your eating habits. There are many reasons why you should improve your diet but basically it’s all about eating for function before pleasure. It’s not complicated and yet people find it hard to avoid eating unnecessarily. One good example is when you need a quick snack to calm your stomach. Would you go for a bag of chips or a banana or two?
From the sentence alone, you know which you should pick but let’s just say a banana has a lot more weight loss benefits than the largest or most organic/vegetarian bag of chips can give you. There is simply no substituting healthy AND natural food.
