Your kids names stay with them for life therefore choosing your kids names has to be one of the most important choices that every parent faces in regards to their child’s future.

It has to be one of the most fun things to do when you become pregnant, spend hours flicking through as many baby name books as possible.

While some mums-to -be known straight away what they want to call their baby, others struggle to agree on a name they like.

I had wanted to call our daughter Summer, yet the husband didn’t like it. I had to agree to choose another.

Thankfully we both agreed on Kia but what would have happened if I had said no, I am having this name?

We would have argued for the whole 9 months of pregnancy.

With so many kids names to choose from how do you decide on the right one?

It all comes down to personal choice in the end.

Some choose old fashioned names such as John, William, James, George and Charles for boys and Mary, Anna, Emma, Elizabeth and Margaret for girls, which are the top 5 baby names of the 1880s.

Some name their kids after relatives or like to keep a certain name within the family, passed down the generations.

Others are more modern and prefer unusual or even weird names.

How I Chose My Kids Names

Nakita was named after a song sung by Elton John

Casey was named after my ex father in laws initials which were K.C.

Cameron was named after searching for a Scottish name, as the midwife who cared for us and was a friend of mine was Scottish.

Kia was named after my Health Visitors make of car

Kaiden was named after a character in an Xbox game

Kody was just Kody because I needed a letter K and liked the name

I have spoken to some who say they had a name in mind but upon giving birth changed their mind because the baby did not suit the chosen name.

Do kids names suit different kids?
