Houzz Introduces New Collaboration Feature for Apple Devices

By Jakemontgomery @LTDOnlineStores

For professionals, as well as average homeowner, coming up with ideas for a home renovation is not easy. On top of that, communicating your vision so others can see it is not simple either. Thankfully, a new tool from Houzz which allows seamless collaboration between people through their Apple devices is going to change that.

Houzz.com is known as a great resource for anyone looking for ideas for their home. Whether it’s a Tuscan Style outdoor kitchen or Modern Rustic bathroom, they have a wealth of images and ideas to draw inspiration from. Now, thanks to the new Sketch feature on the iOS app, users can take any picture on the site and immediately start making notes and sketches. It even supports the new Apple Pencil so that iPad users can draw directly on the screen like a sketchpad. The new feature is supported on iPhones as well.

Beyond just being able to play around with images, the app allows users to work together on the same image at the same time. Just like a Google Docs document. Instead of emailing images to one another and waiting for replies, professionals can work hand in hand without being in the same room, city, or state. Combined with other communication methods like Skype, people can get a very meaningful level of interaction.

If you’re already a Houzz.com shopper, the app also allows you to add any of the products and materials on the Houzz Marketplace to any photo. The size and position of the items are adjustable. You can also upload images from your camera roll to get an idea of how products would look in your home.

Sometimes being able to effectively communicate how you feel about something is good enough. For this, the Sketch feature also includes over 150 stickers that users can take advantage of to quickly express how much they love, or absolutely hate, an idea.
