When Eleanor came up with that quote, I doubt she was dealing with my particular situation.
When I last wrote, I had introduced a new guy, The Writer. To bring you up to speed, I have to back up a few weeks ago.
I remember feeling ambivalent about him. After some consultation with my usual crew, I decided that I'd be ok whether or not I'd hear from him again. This guy does not follow any discernible pattern other than he'll call me, talk for almost an hour before asking me out. The last 2 dates that I went on with him consisted of me driving to his place (old and new), having a couple of drinks, chatting, and resisting his advances.
We're going to go to a bar tomorrow night. Should be interesting as he told me that he wants to be friends with benefits and isn't looking to date right now. I seriously am contemplating going into uncharted waters. Technically speaking, I haven't had that type of relationship. (I consider my former Co-Worker my lover. Can I say that in this day and age?)
I think he and I should set up the ground rules first before anything happens. I remember having this convo with Betty and Ellie several months ago. I wasn't ready to take the plunge then. I think I am now as I'm definitely not emotionally attached to him and he's not looking for a relationship. (I am but not with him. Shhh.)
So, the mystery continues to develop. I am looking forward to finding out what happens next.
