Homemade Makeup Remover

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
I like a mascara that stays put.  I hate the flaking you get by mid afternoon.  I hate the raccoon eyes you get when they smear.  And I hate when you have to reapply it if you head out in the evening.
So I buy a specific type of mascara that won't budge all day.
The downside?
Trying to get that stuff off at the end of the day.
Anyone else with this issue?
And I've tried a lot of different store bought makeup removers.  They sting the eyes or they just don't seem to really work on mascara.

So I decided to try making my own.
At last!  I had found a makeup remover for my stubborn mascara and was gentle enough for my sensitive skin, too.
And the best part:  it was free!
I found this recipe on Pinterest.
It seemed easy enough.  Mix 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp water and 2 Tbsp baby wash.  I also used a funnel to pour it into my existing container.

Problem was my container was an old shampoo bottle.  Not a big deal, I love to recycle, but the existing label wasn't a sticker and I couldn't get the print off.  Since I like to have a label on things (as to not confuse anyone in the house), I had to make a label that wasn't going to smear and rub off.
I printed my own label on sticker paper and pulled out some self adhesive vinyl protector I had on hand.

I sized the vinyl a little larger than the sticker than stuck them both on my bottle.

Yay!  New label and new makeup remover.  By the way, give your mixture a good shake before using since the ingredients like to separate.

And if you want to make some, too, here's the label for your own bottle. Just right click and save and you can resize it to fit your own container. Homemade Makeup Remover
