HiPP Organic Pouches Review

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx
We started weaning Abbie on her 6 month birthday, it was a personal choice not to start any earlier, she didn't seem hungry so we waited for the signs she was ready :). We were sent the BRAND NEW selection of delicious fruit & veg pouches from HiPP to try out! Carrots with Banana & PeachCarrots with Mango & Banana! ''These tasty new recipes combine 50% organic carrots with 50% organic fruits, providing a great introduction to vegetables with none of the bitterness. Each of these pouches provides one portion of fruit and one portion of veg, and contains no added water, sugar or salt. Both are suitable from the start of weaning and are resealable, which is handy for little tummies'' Creamy Spinach, Potatoes & Cheddar Cheese! ''This tasty new combination joins our current savoury pouches from 4 months. Spinach is a great introduction to leafy green vegetables, and the potatoes and cheddar cheese help to give it a mild and creamy texture. Packed full of flavour, this is suitable for vegetarians and also contains a source of natural omega 3, from organic rapeseed oil''So scrummy!HiPP Organic Pouches ReviewI will be honest and say that I was really nervous about starting her on solids, I don't really know why, maybe it was because I was worried she might choke or just completely refuse it (she is such a boob monster). The first one we tried was the carrots with banana & peach..once I'd squeezed some into the bowl, I was suddenly put at ease, the texture was so smooth, almost smoothie like, the smell was yummy & the taste was mild but not bland! This photo was just after her very first taste, she looked at us with such deep concentration, you could see she was trying to work out what we'd just given her, she licked her lips and screwed her face up a few times, but she wanted more. Here are a selection of photo's e took :)HiPP Organic Pouches Review

Day 2 wasn't as much of a success, she really wasn't interested in eating anything, probably because she was being a fuss butt anyway, we didn't force anything though, I think that's important, to listen to her, if she wants it, she'll eat it, if she doesn't, it's OK. So we gave Day 2 a miss and decided to try again the day after :)Day 3 - We remembered to put a bib on her this time..a necessity! We popped her in the high chair and put the bowl and spoon on her tray for her to play with and familiarise herself with it. She seemed eager and put the spoon in her mouth! We tried her with the Spinach, potatoes & cheese and she loved it! Even started making 'mmm' sounds :) again, the texture was  just as smooth & mild, it wasn't really my up of tea but it's not my food! Ha.

She also took great pleasure in taking the spoon and flicking food everywhere..it ended up in her hair, on her forehead, on my arms..it's all good fun though and nothing a wet wipe or bath can't sort out. :)
