Hilary Duff Breath In Breath Out Album CoverSome of us know Hilary Duff as the Disney Channel star Lizzy McGuire.  Some of us know her as an musical artist who had a major single called “Come Clean” that was played on hit MTV shows.  Her past albums have been pretty decient so when I heard that she was working on a new album I was actually really excited.  That was until I took a listen to the album.

The album starts off with a very catchy song that I really like called “Sparks“.  What I think makes this song a good one is that by then end you will be doing the whistling that is throughout the whole song.  Also the tempo and beat is just a good dancing or driving down the highway song.  If you need a new song for your driving playlist this is one to get.  To be honest this is the only song worth getting on the whole album and also the highest point to the whole record.

Breath In Breath Out” which is the title song to the record is just horrible.  Right away when the vocals start I just want to skip it.  Something about this song feels out and feels like there is no emotion in it.  By the time the chorus was getting over with I felt like I needed to run it over with my car so I could put it out of it’s missory.

That song is just one of many on this record that is just not worth taking the time to listen to or hell even spend time in the studio to do.  Not even the song “Tattoo” is worth talking about.  She did do an acoustic version of the song and posted it on her Facebook page.  That verison is actually way better then the one on the album.  That is the version that should have been put on this album.

This is sad for me to do but I’m giving this album a 1/5 stars.  This is my first album where I had to do that.  I feel like there was no effort put into this record at all and if you are trying to come back into the music scene you need to made effort and your music needs to have passion and meaning behind it.
