Hike of Rs 3.04/litre in Petrol Price

Petrol price goes up by Rs3.04/litre

Accepting the summery from Oil and Gas Regulation Authority (OGRA), the ministry of petroleum on Sunday night increased the prices of petrol, Light Diesel Oil (LDO), kerosene oil and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the next week.

With the hike of 3.40 rupees, the price of petrol has been reached Rs 105.49 per liter. The kerosene has gone up Rs 101.95 per liter after the increase of .0.72 while LDO will be sold for Rs 96.70 per liter following a raise of Rs 0.47.

CNG has witnessed the hike of Rs 2.78 in Region -I and Rs 2.54 in Region-II after which the customers of CNG in Region-I will get it at Rs 96.57 and Region-II at Rs 88.22 per kg.

However there is some relief for the customers of High Speed Diesel (HSD) as its price has been decreased to Rs 2.70 and will be now available for 110.46 per liter.

The notification of the raise in prices of petroleum products has been issued and the new prices will take effect from Monday, October 8, 2012.

Meanwhile, citizens, traders and industrialists criticized the government for the weekly revision of petroleum prices and urged the authorities to review its pricing mechanism.
