High Street Fashion Week: Boxpark Shoreditch

By Wildchildmedia @wildchildmedia

BOXPARK Shoreditch is a retail revolution – the world’s first pop-up mall. Based in the heart of East London, for the next five years. BOXPARK strips and refits shipping containers to create unique, low cost, low risk, ‘box shops’. Put them together with a unique mix of international fashion and lifestyle brands, galleries and cafés and you’ve got the world’s first‘pop-up’ mall – so named because its basic building blocks are inherently movable: they can, and will, literally pop up anywhere in the world!

Just selected, ground-breaking brands by invitation only to create a revolutionary mix – and simply great products. That’s only possible because the BOXPARK philosophy is to give those innovative retailers space at affordable rates – and on unbeatably flexible terms. And it’s as local as it’s global – some ‘box-shops’ will be offered to local creative industries and organisations at preferential rates to ensure BOXPARK always involves and enhances every community it joins.

BOXPARK OPPORTUNITIES

Having launched December 2011, Boxpark will remain in Shoreditch for five years, with the next Boxpark launching in Amsterdam in 2013. Throughout the five years, Boxpark is actively encouraging business owners and creatives to consider it’s temporary offering as an opportunity to test out the area and experience the flourishing East London crowd. The pop-up concept pours throughout Boxpark, with as little as 3-month pop-up units available and including full 1-year to 3 and 4-year leases.Boxpark Venue SpaceAs a unique London destination, BOXPARK is more than food and fashion, and aims to support the community as a local venue space, providing entertainment and inspiration for those who visit. Events take place Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with fashion shows, musical and visual arts performances and a variety of art exhibitions, providing a platform for young talents.

Boxpark welcomes new businesses and creatives and continues to accept applications for pop-up ideas. Musicians, artists and designers are encouraged to utilize the space and will be fully supported by free PR, marketing and social media. Available to local charities, groups and schools, Boxpark wishes for the community to feel at home and inspired to help fill the calendar of activities and take advantage of its remaining four years.
