Hello, 2012! And a 365-Day Creative Writing Challenge

By Legosneggos @LegosnEggos

First, thanks for reading!  I want to wish everyone who reads this blog a Happy New Year 2012!  Honestly, I’m a little more than happy to personally usher out 2011 with a loving passive-aggressive shove out the door, and I am pretty confident that 2012 will be a better year.

It is going to be a great year with more considerable changes…and that’s a good thing!  I’m looking forward to it.

As a starter, on this blog, I’m going to challenge my creative writing skills a bit with a 365-day posting year.  Since my dream is to one day write and self-publish a hefty-selling book — lofty, I know — I need the daily writing exercise.  Each day, I’m going to offer a succinct entry of a paragraph or two of creative writing.  It will be fictitious.  It may be in the form of a conversation, an inner thought, or a simple observation.  It might be humorous or serious, light or dark, surreal or realistic, autobiographically based or in no way related to my real life.

When I can, I will offer original photography.  My camera is definitely not up to par with most bloggers’ gear, but I’ll give it a shot.  That was a pun, by the way.

I know there are those of you that can do better, and I hope my daily writing exercises will make you realize that because blog readers are often good writers themselves.

So hello, 2012!  Nice to meet you.  I am determined we will part as friends next year, unlike 2011.  You will like me.  And challenge(s) accepted.  You’re going to present me with challenges no matter how comfortable I try to get, so I might as well accept them with open arms and put myself out there.
