
We are constantly seeking ways to sneak fruits and vegetables in our children’s food.A frozen delight is sure to get them to eat these fruit and vegetable wonders.
And it is not complicated to make. So if you feel like supplementing your kids diet with fruits and vegetables he does not touch in his regular form, use the Popsicle method.
What you need to make popsicles for kids:
- Yogurt
- Fruits
- Milk
- Molds
- Vegetables
- Plastic molds
- Fruit juice
How to make them:
- Place the chopped fruits in the plastic molds.
- Add the liquid base that consists of a blend of the juice, milk, yogurt and vegetable puree.
- Freeze the plastic molds with the mixture.
- To easily pull the popsicles out of the molds, dip for a sec in hot water.
Variations of the popsicles:
- Turtle
If you child likes colorful smoothies, add a dash of spinach or kale to the Popsicle mixture to get a rich color.
- Citrus Blast
For a tangy twist add a few chopped kiwis and orange cubes or even pour orange juice in the molds.
- Berry Dream Bite
Spoon in your favorite berries like black, blue or strawberries and then add a few spoonful’s of berry yogurt.
Additional Tip:
- Bang the molds on a hard surface to remove the air bubbles in the mixture in the mold.
- Use the fruits and vegetables of your choice.
- If you don’t have a plastic mold, you can use muffin tray. To remove from the muffin tray, loosen with a knife.
So use this simple frozen treat to get your child to consume the daily requirements of nutrients.
