“Love Never felt So Good” is the first single from Michael’s new album Xscape. Typing the words “Michael Jackson and new album” feels somewhat wrong. Regardless of my mixed emotions about posthumous releases, “Love Never Felt So Good” is a breezy feel-food pop number that took me straight back to the good old days when Michael Jackson emerging from a white tent on stage at Wembley Stadium by way of a special effect was the greatest thing we had ever witnessed. (In 1988, I was there.) The track features Justin Timberlake on vocals and the track has been “contemporized” by a heavy-hitting production team of L.A. Reid, Timbaland and Rodney Jerkins to name a few.
When L.A. Reid introduced the world premiere of “Love Never Felt So Good” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards he said: “When I first went into Michael’s archives and heard the in-the-raw version of the song you’re about to hear, I was instantly reminded that, yes, Michael Jackson is the greatest.” I agree.
