Hart of Dixie 1x18: Bachelorettes and Bullets

Original Air Date: 16 April 2012

StorylineZoe accepts a lunch invitation from a new patient named Jesse. Lemon agrees to let Magnolia organize her bachelorette party, but Lemon gives Magnolia a list of strict instructions. However, Magnolia has other plans in store for her sister's party. Meanwhile, Wade plans a hunting trip for George's bachelor party.Review: It was only a matter of time until George found out about his fiance's indiscretions and, no matter how many justifications he could have found for what he witnessed at the Rammer Jammer the night of the cocktail contest, the confrontation between him and Lavon was bound to happen in this week's episode. Dramatically, it coincided with his bachelor party (and Lemon's bachelorette one), which, in true BlueBell fashion, did not go down without adventures.

It was refreshing to see an episode which did not center on Zoe, especially after last week's, which was so emotional. I'm not saying we didn't see Zoe at all, but hers was more of a secondary plot and, although she was involved in the Lemon/George drama as a mediator, her presence was merely an enabling element for the main arc.
The episode was a wild ride, much more so than any other before it. The writing was so good that I found myself actually rooting for Lemon, who became more like a real person and less of a bitch once she became more than the nuisance she was at the beginning. Lemon went from a two-dimensional character to a complex one in just a couple of episodes and it's fun to watch her unravel the different sides of her personality. She's proving that she can be more than a crazy anal bitch and seeing her give away her insecure side makes me want to see her happy, for some reason. Add to that the fact that I'm not a fan of George (Scott Porter is not my kind of guy and I still hate him after his part in The Good Wife) and you just know I want them happily married.
The fact that George found out about Lemon and Lavon during their bachelor parties just added a little bit of zest to the whole drama. Of course, one could argue that it would have been fun to see Lemon actually give in and have fun in that not-her-at-all bus, maybe playing with whatever sex toys Magnolia bought using her daddy's credit card, but the not-enchanted woods were a fit background for the entire drama to play its course.
So now everyone knows that everyone knows and, as in the ancient proverbs, the husband (or fiance, in this case) was the last one to find out. Which doesn't stand good with George, whose pride doesn't let him see that Lavon is Zoe's best friend and her keeping the secret of the affair was the normal thing to do. On the other hand, George being mad with Zoe can only be in Wade's (and my) interest, those two really needed to put the breaks on whatever was starting to happen between them. If you ask me, George is a big hypocrite; he might not have physically cheated on Lemon (although God knows what he did in New York all that time), but he can't claim that his friendship with Zoe was totally innocent.
Moving on to Zoe and Wade, they had a little bit of a lovers' spat, despite not being lovers. It's hilarious whenever Wade shows how much he likes Zoe by acting like a 4-year old whose toy was stolen by his big brother. Which is not far from the truth, because - and surprise! - Wade actually has a brother, who is putting the moves on Zoe, out of all the single women in BlueBell.
I hope Jesse sticks around, and not only because the Green Arrow, aka Justin Hartley, is so easy on the eyes. A little bit of drama in Wade's life can only be good for him as competition is always beneficial in terms of TV drama, especially when you have two gorgeous brothers competing for one girl. Just as Elena Gilbert, if you don't believe me.
So, dear readers, what do you think? Will Lemon and George get back together? She certainly thinks so! Will the wedding still happen? I wouldn't put my money on that, just because I believe Zoe and George will get together at some point, if for no other reason, then at least because it has been hinted so many times. But until that time comes, I honestly can't wait for next week's episode, where Zoe and Wade will pair up for a classic BlueBell event.Hart of Dixie 1x17: Heart to Hart Back to Season 1
