Happy Australia Day boys and girls! Where I live the streets are going to be full of ex-pat Aussies wearing cork hats and draped in Australian flags. Too bad the weather is not co-operating today. Instead of Australian sunshine it’s good’ol London downpour for the partygoers. I thought we would mark Australia Day here on Marthafied with some gorgeous pics of some of our favorite Aussie guys. And boy, do they have hotties in Australia. For one, they have The Hemsworth brothers. Seriously, almost too much hotness in one family. My personal Australian heartthrob is Simon Baker. That boyish grin. Sweet and devilish at the same time. So sexy. So here we are, the Marthafied Aussie Hottie Gallery!
LIAM HEMSWORTH
At 24 Liam is the youngest of the Hemsworth brothers. He of course famously dated Miley Cyrus and even more famously, he is Gale in the Hunger Games movie series. The Hemsworths are from Melbourne and Liam got his start on Australian television in their most famous soap “Neighbours” and on childrens’ TV. Sexiest feature: eyes. So clear and blue you could swim in them.
CHRIS HEMSWORTH
The older of the famous Hemsworth brothers, Chris, is 30 years old and marries to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky. They have a daughter India Rose and twins on the way! Chris is a bit of an action hero. He is probably most famous for being Thor in the Marvel Studios films. He also most recently played Formula One racing driver in Ron Howard’s racing movie “Rush”. Sexiest feature: The guns. Look at those arms! That Pataky is a very lucky girl.
SIMON BAKER
I first saw Simon Baker in the “Devil Wears Prada” movie and was instantly dazzled by his boyish good looks and his radiant smile. A perfect combination of a good guy with a bit of a Tasmanian devil glint in his eyes. (He is from Tasmania.) He became a household name with his lead role in the TV series Mentalist. (Mandatory watching in my house.) He is very age appropriate (for me) and 44, and looks at least a decade younger! Simon is married to a fellow Australian actress Rebecca Rigg and they have 3 children. Sexiest feature: That smile. I swoon.
JASON DONOVAN
If you were a teenager in the 80s in Europe or Australia, you know who Jason Donovan is. Jason became famous in the iconic Austrlian soap “Neighbours” where he quickly became the show’s heartthrob and the stuff of daydreams for legions of teenage girls. (Me included!). The successful soap career also launched a more successful pop career and Jason had 16 Top 40 hits in the UK between 1988-1992. His most famous hit was probably his duet with Kylie Minogue (also his girlfriend at the time) “Especially For You“. Since then Jason has become a West End star (West End=London’s Broadway) in such musicals as Priscilla, Queen of The Desert and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Jason lives in London with his wife and 3 children. Sexiest feature: His voice. A bit husky and a bit gravelly, takes me right back to the 80s!
JESSE SPENCER
Yet another alum on that iconic soap opera Neigbours (that show must have the best casting directors ever!) Jesse leaped to fame in the US in the medical TV series House, and has now swapped his medical lab coat to a fireman’s uniform in Chicago Fire. He is also very musical and plays the violin, most notably in a charity cover band called Band From TV that includes other famous actors like Hugh Laurie and Teri Hatcher. Most recently he dated Brazilian pro surfer Maya Gabeira, but they seem to have broken up, so ladies, Jesse might be available for dates! Sexiest feature: Well, he just is…sexy. And that accent….
HUGH JACKMAN
Hugh Jackman was born in Sydney but to English parents, so that might be the key to his charms. The mix of the rugged all man Australian charm with the English sophistication. He is a major movie star today, of course, but got his start on TV Australia and as a song and dance man in Theatre. His leading role in “Oklahoma!” in the National Theatre in London was breakthrough and soon after Hollywood came calling. He is married to a fellow Australian Deborrah Lee-Furness and they have 2 adopted children: Sexiest feature: have you ever seen him topless?
KEITH URBAN
Keith was actually born in New Zealand… but he grew up in Australia, so, he qualifies as an Aussie in my books! He started his country music career in Australia before moving to Nashville where he originally got session work before signing with Capitol Records. His debut self-titled album sold platinum and he has been a huge country music star ever since! In 2006 he married Nicole Kidman and they have 2 daughters. Currently you can also see him as a judge on American Idol. A great addition to the panel. I love his sense of humor. Sexiest feature: He plays guitar, now doesn’t he? ‘Nuff said.
