Description: We found this place as a recommendation from the bed and breakfast we were staying in near Shiloh, TN. They also have huge billboards around Shiloh, which is really not a town – just a gas station and a national Civil War Battlefield. We almost didn’t go since we’d eaten fried catfish at Top of The River the night before, but everyone kept raving about the place. It really was great – glad we went.
This is one of the oldest family restaurants in the US. The restaurant started as a cabin in the early 1800’s that was first built to house supplies brought in on the river. The owner started to treat guests with catfish dinners and then let them sleep over if it got too late to travel on…
