Ramadan has always been special to me right from the days of my childhood and what a wonderful feeling it is to experience yet another Ramadan together with our near and dear ones. A lot has changed in my life from last Ramadan to this since the time I ventured into blogging and having to learn something new everyday from so many talented bloggers/writers, I feel like I am growing with each passing day. There are innumerable reasons to thank Allah for everything I am blessed with and for the start I’d like to thank Almighty for the supportive family He honored me with. Also to thank everyone who take out their time to read, appreciate and also suggest ways in which I can improve my blog. I am so excited to let you all know that this is my first guest post and was super thrilled when Huma of Gheza-e-Shiriin asked me to share a recipe alongwith the traditions that are followed in my house for Ramadan- an event to share she host on her blog .

ramadan

This Ramadan I am making conscious effort to stay away from fried food and stick to healthy options. This is one of the reasons I proposed Huma that I will be sharing delicious and fresh Chicken khaboos sandwich that can be prepared in no time with fresh ingredients like lettuce and tomatoes; and also my husband’s recipe of Gol Paani (jaggery water) which is just what you need after a long day fast because it is packed with minerals, acts as digestive agent, sweetens food in healthy manner and has the ability to cleanse your body. In my guest post, I hope you also enjoy reading about the remarkable memories of Ramadan I cherish from the three houses I lived in – my nani’s house in Hyderabad, my maternal home in Mumbai and my own one in Dubai.

Kindly join me at Gheza-e-Shiriin to check out my recipes and more that I loved to share. Thank you Huma for giving me this opportunity to reach out to people and share my thoughts on Ramadan and some healthy recipes we all can benefit from.

Huma and I connected instantly on food bloggers’ community and I can only see the friendship growing. She is the writer at Gheza-e-Shiriin which means “ food cooked with sweetness & love for your beloved ones” and shares some mouth watering home-cooked recipes on her blog. She is also hosting a 6 weeks event followed by a give-away starting from June 25th to August 6th, looking for options at healthier cooking and feasting. Feel free to share on her blog the recipes you treasure to serve as Ramadan meals.
